Benjamin Freed
Politico has hired Benjamin Freed to be a supervising editor for tax coverage.
He previously was at Bloomberg Tax as a state team leader.
Freed previously was the managing editor of StateScoop and EdScoop, covering cybersecurity issues affecting state and local governments across the country. He has written extensively about ransomware, election security and the federal government’s role in assisting states and cities with information security.
He previously worked at Washingtonian magazine covering politics, media and culture. He was also editor in chief of DCist.com.
Freed holds a bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University.
