Politico health reporter Messerly joins politics team

Megan Messerly

Politico health care reporter Megan Messerly is joining the news organization’s politics team to cover the Kamala Harris campaign.

She has been covering health policy in the states and is based in Washington, D.C.

Currently, she is a politics and health policy reporter at The Nevada Independent.

She was also a political reporter at the Las Vegas Sun and has served as managing editor, executive news editor and city government reporter at The Daily Californian, the student-run daily newspaper.

Additionally, she has interned at the San Francisco Chronicle. Messerly graduated from the University of California, Berkeley.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
