Politico adds data whiz, CNN’s new election reporter, Russia cracks down on UK journos

Jonathan Lai (pictured) joins Politico as a data and politics editor fresh from the Philadelphia Inquirer, while over at CNN, Arit John has come on board as a national politics reporter to cover the 2024 presidential election. And in a nod to Stalin’s salad days of Soviet press bullying, Russia has blacklisted journalists from the BBC, Guardian and the Telegraph.
