Personal finance journalist Ben Geier has left journalism and is now studying software engineering.
He was at CBS News covering personal finance.
He previously was an editor at SmartAsset. He joined in March 2018 as an editor and writer. Before that, he covered all types of breaking news related to business, markets and financial policy at CNNMoney.
Before that, Geier curated the news for CNNMoneyStream (CNNMoney’s mobile app). He was a contract writer at Mic and a reporter at Fortune Magazine. He also reported for InvestmentWires and interned at The Columbus Dispatch and Roll Call.
Geier has a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a master’s degree from the City University of New York.
