Pereira joins Toronto Star biz news desk

Ana Pereira

Ana Pereira is now a full-time reporter on the Toronto Star business news desk.

She has been interning since September 2023.

Periera said on LinkedIn she will be reporting on a little bit of everything, but now with greater focus on how the banks, insurance companies and pensions are shaping the lives of Canadians.

She previously interned at Bloomberg News and worked as a breaking news reporter for the Star. Pereira is a graduate of the University of Toronto.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
