Pensions & Investments hires Thrasher to cover asset managers

Michael Thrasher

Michael Thrasher, editor in chief of Institutional Investor’s RIAIntel, has been hired by Pensions & Investments to cover asset managers.

He will start next week.

Thrasher joined Institutional Investor three years ago as a reporter. He previously was a reporter for WealthManagement.com, where he has been since January 2017.

Thrasher has covered brokerages, RIAs and everything that impacts them. He has written about mergers and acquisitions, regulatory changes, technology and industry trends.

He previously worked as a research analyst for ValuePenguin and interned at Business Insider.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
