Rose Pastore has been promoted to editor in chief at tech news site Gizmodo.

She has been executive editor since December 2023 and before that was its science editor. She also worked at Fast Company.

“I’m excited to lead our team of journalists as we focus on producing important, interesting stories that our readers care about,” said Pastore in a statement. Gizmodo’s audience has remained loyal over the years because of our distinctive voice and perspective, and we’ll keep delivering work that’s smart, surprising, and impactful.”

Meanwhile, Mylene Poncet, an executive with over a decade of experience in global tech and media, has joined the company as managing director of Gizmodo USA. Her focus will be on innovation and expanding Gizmodo’s influence in the digital media landscape.

“Mylène and Rose have our full confidence to lead the development of a dynamic and strategic market that is rapidly evolving,” said Jean-Guillaume Kleis, CEO of Keleops, Gizmodo’s parent company, in a statement. “Their strong background makes them the perfect fit to guide this next phase of growth from New York. We’re thrilled to see their leadership in action. In just four months, we’ve boosted our unique visitors from 5 million to an impressive 18 million in October.”

Gizmodo was founded in 2002. Keleops acquired it in June.
