Erica Palan has been named the deputy business editor at the Philadelphia Inquirer.
She has been deputy opinion editor for the Inquirer for the past five years.
Palan previously was senior editor for audience development and social media at the newspaper.
She has also been a columnist and digital managing editor for Philadelphia magazine, and arts and entertainment editor for Philadelphia Weekly.
Palan is a Temple University graduate.
