The Pacific Business News, an American City Business Journals publication, has hired Janis Magin Meierdiercks as its editor in chief.
She has been director of communications at the University of Hawaii Foundation for the past three years. Previous editor Kam Napier had led the publication for more than 10 years before leaving more than a month ago.
Meierdiercks previously spent 15 years at Pacific Business News, including stints as senior editor, real estate editor and managing editor.
She also spent 13 years at the Associated Press, including time as a news editor in Honolulu.
Meierdiercks holds a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and a master’s degree from Boston University.
