Shira Ovide, who has been writing the “On Tech” newsletter for the New York Times since early 2020, is leaving the organization for a new opportunity.
She previously worked at Bloomberg Opinion, where she had been a tech columnist since 2015. There she wrote three to five data-driven columns a week.
Before Bloomberg, Ovide was at Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal for more than a decade, both in New York and San Francisco. She covered media, was a deals columnist and reported on technology companies like Twitter.
Raised in Ohio, Ovide is a graduate of Haverford College and Columbia Journalism School.
