Oregonian hires Bach to cover housing and commercial real estate

The Oregonian has hired Jonathan Bach from the Portland Business Journal to cover housing and commercial real estate.

He has been with the Business Journal since 2019 and was covering real estate and economic development.

He also covered business and Salem City Hall with the Statesman Journal.

Before joining the Statesman, Bach served as a reporting intern at the Wall Street Journal. he also held the posts of editor-in-chief and stringer at Ethos Magazine and The Daily Beast respectively. He has also interned at Wiener Zeitung.

Bach holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oregon.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
