Banking and legal reporter A.J. O’Leary is leaving the Birmingham Business Journal for a new opportunity.
His last day is Nov. 13. He is moving to Austin to become a stand-up comedian.
He joined the Birmingham Business Journal in 2021. His coverage has garnered awards from the Virginia Press Association and Alabama Press Association.
Prior to joining the Business Journal, he was editor of the Altavista Journal, a weekly newspaper near Lynchburg, Virginia.
He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2020 with a degree in journalism.
