Colby Smith
The New York Times has hired Colby Smith to be its lead reporter covering the Federal Reserve and to write about the U.S. economy.
She previously was the U.S. economics editor at the Financial Times.
She had been with the FT for more than six years and previously was U.S. capital markets correspondent and a writer for FT Alphaville.
Smith previously worked at The Economist and was a producer for Bloomberg Television.
Smith holds a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and a master’s degree from the University of Cambridge.
