NOTUS hires former Protocol reporter Kramer

Anna Kramer

Anna Kramer has been hired as an energy and environmental policy reporter at NOTUS, a nonprofit journalism organization recently launched by the Allbritton Journalism Institute.

At Protocol, Kramer was a tech reporter and newsletter producer.

Before that, Kramer was working as a business/tech reporter at San Francisco Chronicle covering the pandemic’s effects on workers, small business, and tech, as well as coronavirus-related health stories on masks, hospital strikes and virus outbreaks.

She was also managing editor of The Brown Daily Herald.

Kramer has also served as a cybersecurity and privacy reporting intern at Bloomberg Law and was a staff writer at Street Fight. She was also newsroom intern at WHYY and an English teacher at The Wheeler School.

Kramer is a B.A. from Brown University.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
