
The Oregonian’s newly appointed editor, Laura Gunderson, is a former business reporter.
A story on its website states, “Gunderson, 52, started work at The Oregonian in 1995, while still a student at the University of Portland, from which she graduated with a journalism degree. She worked as a clerk taking phone calls on the sports desk.
“She became a news reporter, covering various local government beats, and an investigative reporter. For several years, as a business reporter, she wrote the popular column, “Complaint Desk,” where she delved into reader complaints with businesses of all kinds. She also covered the retail industry.”
