New EIC for States Newsroom, Quartz’s EIC departs, a four-decade legend retires

Hellos and goodbyes: Janelle Stecklein (pictured) is the new EIC of the Oklahoma branch of States Newsroom. At Quartz, the staff says goodbye to EIC Zach Seward, departing after 11 years, while WAMC Northeast Public Radio’s Dr. Alan Chartock is retiring after an incredible 40-plus years as its leader.
