NBC News hires Jochum from Vox

Kateri Jochum

Shalini Sharma, senior executive editor of NBC News Digital Video Productions, sent out the following announcement on Monday:

Hello all,

I’m thrilled to announce that Kateri Jochum will be joining NBC News as Executive Producer of our daily podcast, Here’s the Scoop, beginning today. Kateri brings a wealth of experience in audio journalism and podcast production, joining us from Vox Media Podcast Network, where she was the Supervising Producer of the award-winning podcast On with Kara Swisher, a twice-a-week long-form interview podcast.

Prior to that, she served as Executive Producer of Audio at The Wall Street Journal, where she oversaw a suite of daily and weekly podcasts, launched new series, and grew audience engagement by over 50%. Her purview extended across teams in New York, London, San Francisco, and D.C., where she partnered with marketing, sales, and external distributors to expand reach. She has covered a range of topics, from business, politics, tech and finance – to culture, including a deep dive into Enron and a 3-part investigative series on TikTok and eating disorders at The Wall Street Journal.

Kateri’s career also includes leadership roles at TheSkimm, ABC Radio News, WNYC, and Deutsche Welle. She’s passionate about storytelling, fostering collaborative, innovative environments, and mentoring budding podcast producers.

Please join me in welcoming Kateri to NBC News and continuing to help us grow in the podcast space!
