The Nashville Business Journal has promoted Joel Stinnett to a senior reporter position at the publication.
Stinnett has been with the paper since September 2017 and covers health care and banking.
“Joel is the type of reporter any editor should be happy to have their staff learn from and emulate, as someone who does great work and does it the right way,” said editor in chief Eric Snyder. “This promotion recognizes and celebrates the leadership Joel has already been providing within the NBJ newsroom, and will continue to provide.”
His 2021 investigation into the collapse of Bridge Connector was part of the Nashville Business Journal’s most recent SABEW Best in Business Awards General Excellence submission, for which the the paper last week received an honorable mention.
Stinnett previously worked for sister paper Louisville Business First and also was a reporter and designer for the News and Tribune in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He studied journalism at Indiana University’s Southeast campus in New Albany, where he was editor of the student newspaper.
