Morning Call hires growth and development reporter

Evan Jones

Evan Jones has been hired as the growth and development reporter for The Morning Call in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Jones was previously a business editor at the Reading Eagle, where he developed the paper’s Money section as the go-to source for business news in Berks County. He also has a background in sports as well as non-newspaper experience as director of communications at Maple Grove Raceway.

His career started at the Eagle as a sports copy editor and reporter.

Jones holds a bachelor’s degree from American University.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
