Modern Retail, a Digiday publication, has promoted Melissa Daniels to special projects editor.
She has been a senior reporter since 2022.
She previously was a digital media consultant and communications manager for Life to Rise, a Coachella Valley nonprofit.
Daniels was previously a business reporter for The Desert Sun in Palm Springs, California. She previously worked at Report for America and spent two years at Law36o in its Los Angeles bureau.
Daniels also covered transportation and state government for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
