MLex managing editor Kait Bolongaro is departing for a new opportunity.
As managing editor in Europe at MLex, she leads an editorial team of 30 journalists in Brussels and London.
“My job was mostly to hire well and clear the path,” she wrote on LinkedIn. “I’m proud of what we built, especially a newsroom culture that makes it a genuinely special place to do journalism. Now there’s a whole generation of journalists who have come through it, are there now, and will pass through it in the years ahead. That outlasts any of us.”
She previously worked as a reporter covering Canadian politics for Bloomberg and EU policy for Politico Europe.
She was also a freelancer, reporting on politics, society, business and culture from five continents for outlets such as the BBC, the Guardian, VICE and Al Jazeera.
Bolongaro holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia.
