MLex managing editor Kait Bolangaro sent out the following on Monday:

Hello all,

I’m very happy to share the news that Cynthia Kroet returns to MLex today as our Chief Trade Correspondent.

Many of you will remember Cynthia from her nearly five years with us, and I’m truly delighted to welcome her back. Cynthia is one of the most respected regulatory journalists in Brussels. Over the past twelve years, she has built a reputation for sharp, accurate reporting, strong scoops, and an extensive source network across a wide range of policy and political beats.

Cynthia has worked at some of the most influential publications in the Brussels Press Corps, including MLex, POLITICO Europe, the European Voice, and, most recently, Euronews, where she led their technology coverage across various formats. She also brings experience from the consultancy world as Director for Technology, Media and Telecom at FTI Consulting.

A Dutch national, Cynthia speaks Dutch, English, German and French. She holds a Master’s in Journalism and New Media from Leiden University, along with a Bachelor’s in European Studies from The Hague University of Applied Sciences.

Cynthia will also be leading our trade and energy teams. With her superb editorial judgement, calm authority and deep knowledge of EU policymaking, she is exceptionally well placed to guide our reporters as they continue to strengthen our coverage in these two critical areas.

I very much look forward to having her as one of our leaders at MLex Europe and across the broader MLex team.

Please join me in giving Cynthia a very warm welcome back to MLex.

Best wishes,

Kait
