Milwaukee Business Journal editor-in-chief Mark Kass announced Wednesday that he would be leaving the paper in mid-April to join a prominent Milwaukee sports marketing, events and media firm.

A story on its website states, “Kass, editor-in-chief of the Milwaukee Business Journal for the past 20 years, has been named senior vice president and chief content officer for Team Lammi and executive director of the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame.

“‘It has been my honor and privilege to lead the newsroom of the Milwaukee Business Journal over the past two decades,’ Kass said. ‘We have been able to grow the paper both in print and online, contrary to other media throughout the country, with a consistent focus on local business news and the incredible people that make up our community.’

“Kass has been editor since 2003 and has led the Milwaukee Business Journal to win dozens of awards, including from the Milwaukee Press Club and the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing. Under his newsroom leadership, the paper is the leading source of business news in southeastern Wisconsin. In all, Kass worked for the organization for 27 years, including time as managing editor and real estate reporter.”
