Miami Herald biz editor Bomberger departs

Paul Bomberger

Paul Bomberger, the business editor of the Miami Herald, has left the news organization after two years.

Before joining the Herald, Bomberger had been a senior business reporter and the business and metro editor at the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat in California for the previous three years.

Bomberger previously had been at the Houston Chronicle as an assistant metro editor. He was also an assistant business editor at the Philadelphia Inquirer.

He had been managing editor of Business Insurance, a Crain publication, and an assistant business editor at the Palm Beach Post and deputy business editor at The South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
