He had been with the company since 2008 and had been managing editor since 2017. He was also responsible for editorial content and moderators at TechCrunch events like Disrupt.
As a reporter, Burns wrote about consumer electronics, cannabis, mobility/automotive, and venture capital.
Burns holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan-Flint.
