Daniel Bentley, a managing editor overseeing two newsletters at Morning Brew, is among those laid off by the company on Thursday.
He had been with the company for a year. He was managing editor for “Sidekick” and “Money Scoop.”
The other editorial layoffs include reporter Katie Canales, reporter Sherry Qin, executive producer Brian Henry, and senior editor Stassa Edwards.
In an email to the staff, CEO Austin Rief wrote, “The economy is evolving, and unfortunately, there is a lot of fear and uncertainty among companies around the world — including many of our current advertisers.”
Bentley has been at Fortune since June 2015, first as a digital editor. He previously worked at Circa 1605 as a senior editor.
Bentley holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Lancashire.
