Masunaga now covering entertainment biz for LA Times

Samantha Masunaga

Los Angeles Times business reporter Samantha Masunaga is now covering entertainment business news.

Masunaga has been writing about workplace culture and also covers the aerospace industry. Since joining The Times in 2014, she has covered local and national breaking news, the craft beer industry and Southern California’s Japanese American community.

Masunaga has previously worked for the Oregonian, the Orange County Register and the Rafu Shimpo, among other publications.

A Southern California native, she is an alumna of the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism and UCLA.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
