William Watts, the markets editor at MarketWatch.com, is leaving the personal finance website after 26 years.
“It’s been an honor to work at MarketWatch, which allowed me the opportunity to see the world and write about the major economic, financial and political upheavals of the 21st century,” he wrote on LinkedIn.
In addition to managing markets coverage, he writes about stocks, bonds, currencies and commodities, including oil. He also writes about global macro issues and trading strategies. During his time at MarketWatch, Watts has served in key roles in the Frankfurt, London, New York and Washington, D.C., newsrooms.
Watts previously worked at Futures World News before joining MarketWatch in April 1999.
Later this month, Watts will become editor of Pro Farmer, a provider of news, analysis and advice to farmers and agribusiness leaders.
