MacObserver.com, Apple news website, sold to Reflector Media

Reflector Media has acquired MacObserver.com, a U.S. digital tech publication that covers Apple products and services, for an undisclosed amount, reports Ray Schultz of Publishers daily.

Schultz reports, “Founded by David Hamilton and Bryan Chaffin in 1998 when Mac OS 8 was released and the iMac was growing in popularity, MacObserver has a wide audience of Apple podcast listeners.

“Romania-based Reflector Media provides content about Microsoft’s products and services, now hopes to apply ‘the same operational expertise to become an even better resource for the growing audience around the Apple ecosystem,’ states Radu Tyrsina, Founder and CEO of Reflector Media.

“The MacObserver site was taken over by Dr. Serhat Kurt, editor of the International Journal of Educational Technology, in 2021. But Kurt has determined that he lacks the bandwidth to continue running it.”
