The Wall Street Journal has hired Matthew Luxmoore as Moscow-based reporter focusing on Russian national defense and security policy.
He joins from Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in Moscow, where he was a Moscow correspondent. In this role, he filed breaking news stories and wrote enterprise features for the online news outlet. He has also interned at The New York Times and The Moscow Times.
Luxmoore also served as a freelance Moscow correspondent at Al Jazeera America and was a reporter a freelance reporter at The Local Europe.
Luxmoore earned his bachelor’s degree from Queen Mary University of London and a M.A. from Harvard University.
