We are thrilled to announce that Jennifer Liberto will be the next deputy politics and government editor.
For nearly seven years, Jen has led The Post’s high-performing, award-winning economics coverage, including helping oversee, organize and edit some of the package of stories that won this year’s Pulitzer Price in Public Service.
Since arriving at the Post as economics editor, Jen has run, edited and coordinated some of The Post’s most important coverage, including the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the federal government’s stimulus response and the labor supply shortages and inflation surge that followed. Most recently, she oversaw team coverage of the reshaping of the federal workforce, tariffs and the broader economy.
The economics coverage she’s managed and edited regularly drives news and conversations across the country — and repeatedly wins the Post accolades. In addition to her work on this year’s Pulitzer winner, she edited a 2024 finalist for the Gerald Loeb Award for breaking news. She’s also edited seven winners of honorable mentions in the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing’s annual Best in Business awards.
Before joining the Post, Jen was the deputy business editor for National Public Radio and interim executive producer of Weekend All Things Considered. She also covered business and politics for Politico, CNN and the Tampa Bay Times.
