The Los Angeles Times has hired Carly Olson to cover the consumer economy.
Her first day was Monday,
Olson has been a reporting fellow at the New York Times for the past year. She has also been freelancing for The Guardian, Architectural Digest and Oprah Daily, among others.
She previously interned for the Los Angeles Times business news desk and was an assistant editor for Architectural Digest.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and a master’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley/
