Zane Hill has been named acting editor in chief of the Los Angeles Business Journal while editor in chief Hannah Welk goes on maternity leave.
Welk writes, “Zane Hill, who has been a managing editor at the publication since last year, will be leading the editorial team as acting editor. He has been my right hand for a while, and I know the publication is in good hands with him. I’m so excited to see everything he and the rest of the team are able to do.”
Hill has served as managing editor of the Business Journal since December 2024 and in that role helps with planning and editing issues and works with reporters in producing their stories.
He joined the publication in 2022 and writes about a variety of topics, including professional services, the ports, craft beer and sports franchises.
Prior to that, he was a city editor at Outlook News Group, where he oversaw the Glendale News-Press and South Pasadena Review weeklies. Before moving to Los Angeles in 2016, he worked for Gannett and Wick Communications publications in Louisiana.
