Kia Kokalitcheva, who was covering venture capital and tech deals at Axios, was among the layoffs last week.
She previously was a tech reporter at Fortune before joining Axios in January 2017. Kokalitcheva had covering technology and Silicon Valley with a focus on the “on-demand economy” at Fortune.
Before that, she worked at VentureBeat for six months covering early-stage startups and funding.
Kokalitcheva is a 2012 graduate of Cal Berkeley with a degree in political economy.
