Politico’s Debra Kahn has started a column covering energy and climate policy.
The column, called “Currents,” will in the words of executive editor Alex Burns, “range over the vast space of energy and climate politics, engaging innovators and executives and leaders of governments in Sacramento and Washington and other capitals across North America and beyond.”
Kahn is the editor of Politico’s “California Climate” newsletter. Her team of reporters cover pressing policy issues confronting the state including energy, transportation, the environment and climate change.
She is a sought-after expert in those topics, with 15 years of experience reporting on and editing related stories. She frequently moderates panels for major conferences across the state and interviews the personalities shaping California’s nation-leading environmental policies.
Kahn rejoined the California team, where she’d previously been the bureau chief, in 2023 after serving as deputy sustainability editor for Politico.
