James laid off from Wall Street Journal

Cordilia James, the reporting assistant to The Wall Street Journal’s senior personal tech columnist Joanna Stern, has been laid off.

She has been at the Journal for more than three years.

James helped write and curate Tech Things, a weekly newsletter about the biggest news happening in consumer tech and its impact on how we live and work.

She’s written various news features about the ways we encounter technology is changing. James also worked with other teams on the newsroom, guest-hosted the Journal’s daily Tech News Briefing podcast, produced social videos, and wrote features and columns for the A-hed and Journal Reports sections.

Prior to the Journal, she wrote for The Real Deal, National Geographic, People and The Washington Post. James is a graduate of American University.
