Kit Gillet will join Insider as a London-based news editor.
Since 2019, Gillet was a Central and Eastern Europe correspondent at Financial Times-backed publication Sifted, where he reported on the startup ecosystem.
He contributed to The Banker, another FT-backed publication. He worked freelance for the Guardian, the Economist, Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Atlantic, Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, Daily Telegraph, Foreign Policy, Forbes, Monocle and CNN.
Previously, he covered Romania and Moldova for the New York Times and was a China correspondent at the South China Morning Post. He was a senior editor at China International Business Magazine.
Gillet has a B.A. in English from the University of Nottingham.
