Indianapolis Biz Journal reporter Blanchard is departing

The Indianapolis Business Journal reporter Peter Blanchard is leaving to join Mirror Indy as a state government reporter.

He had been covering the statehouse and economic development for the Business Journal.

Blanchard previously was a general assignment reporter for The Reporter-Times in Martinsville, Indiana. A Pennsylvania native and graduate of Ithaca College, Blanchard worked for several years as a news reporter in commercial radio before launching an independent, hyperlocal news publication in central New York.

Prior to joining the Reporter-Times, he covered suburban Philadelphia for local news and information platform Patch.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
