Will Swarts
Will Swarts, a veteran freelancer for Inc., has been hired as a senior editor there.
He began his staff position in late January.
Before taking over the Workplace section at Inc., Swarts edited the A.M. News team pilot project from its inception in November 2023, editing general news from a small reporting team and selecting wire copy for the publication’s startup founder and small business focused audience.
He previously served as ICSC’s editor for small business and was the lead markets editor for SmartMoney.com for several years before taking on public relations and marketing content roles from 2010 to 2022. In his early career, he worked for The Real Deal, TheStreet.com, and small daily papers in Oregon and Washington. He also worked for trade publications and freelanced in Hong Kong, Beijing and Berlin.
He has broad business reporting and editing experience that will help guide Inc.’s coverage of workplace issues, from shifting models of work and leadership decisions to HR, benefits and DEI topics.
