Veronica de Souza has been hired by Inc. to be its executive digital director.
She will start on Oct. 16.
Veronica joins the publication from WNYC/Gothamist, where she was the director of digital news and audience. She previously served as the senior director, publishing, for VICE Media, the director of audience development for the Daily Beast, and head of audience and social for the Gawker family of sites including Gizmodo, Deadspin and Jezebel.
She is well-versed in growth strategies that leverage channels ranging from newsletters and podcasts to social-first video—all working in concert to grow readership and convert “readers and listeners into loyalists,” as she puts it.
At Inc., de Souza will oversee Inc.com and our digital editorial brand strategy.
