Suein Hwang has joined The New York Times Opinion as a business, economics and technology editor for guest essays.
Recently, Hwang served as interim managing editor at Charter, a media-and-services company dedicated to the future of work.
Previously, she was at The Wall Street Journal, which she joined in 1990 as a tobacco reporter. There, she held various other roles, including technology reporter, feature writer, Page One editor, real estate weekend editor and features editor for the Mansion section.
Hwang has a B.A. from Princeton University.
