The Houston Chronicle has hired Jonathan Diamond to be its business editor.
He has been West Coast editor of real estate news service CoStar Group and previously was deputy business editor at the Chronicle.
An announcement to the Chronicle staff stated, “In his 2 1/2 years on the Chronicle’s business desk, Jonathan was responsible for Texas Inc., working with our reporters and freelancers to come up with engaging deep dives into trends and personalities important to the Houston business community and collaborating with the photo and design desks to make those stories visually engaging.
“Working with the team on dailies, he led the real estate and retail reporters as well as our tech coverage. He’s looking forward to ensuring we’re serving both the business community and readers interested in how business effects their lives.”
Diamond was previously the editor in chief of the Los Angeles Business Journal. He first joined the Chronicle in January 2019.
He has a master’s degree in public policy from UCLA and a bachelor’s in journalism from Boston University.
