Houston Chronicle biz reporter Downen to join Texas Tribune

Robert Downen

Robert Downen will join the Texas Tribune as a democracy reporter. Downen will be based in Austin.

Recently, he was at the Houston Chronicle, where he covered nonprofits and other business news.

Previously, he was a business reporter at the Albany Times Union and was managing editor of Times News Group in Illinois. He was a city editor at Pekin Daily Times in Illinois.

Downen has a B.S. in journalism and political science from Eastern Illinois University.
