The Houston Business Journal has hired Sofia Gonzalez to cover economic development, education and diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
Managing editor Jonathan Adams writes, “Gonzalez came to the Houston Business Journal from Community Impact, where she covered economic development and new business around the Houston area. Prior to that, she held an internship at Houstonia Magazine, where she wrote stories for print and digital publication.
“She also held an internship at Houston Public Media, where she helped create news stories for broadcast. There, she wrote stories for web as well as copy for radio shows.
“Although Gonzalez graduated from the University of Houston’s journalism program in December 2021, she is not new to the field. Her mother is Connie Berrera, an industry veteran who worked as a producer at KPRC and later as a producer on a former KHOU show called ZooperStars.”
