HousingWire parent buys real estate data company

HW Media, publisher of HousingWire, RealTrends and Reverse Mortgage Daily, announced Thursday it has acquired real estate data firm Altos Research for an undisclosed amount.

Altos provides weekly market statistics, analysis and reporting for 99 percent of the zip codes in the United States.

Altos founder and CEO Mike Simonsen will join HW Media executive team as president of Altos Research.

“We believe this technology will provide massive benefits to our audience of housing professionals who rely on our insights and analysis to inform their most important business decisions,” said HW Media CEO Clayton Collins in a statement.

HW Media is based in Texas.
