Hayes named assistant tech editor for Politico Europe

Kelsey Hayes

Kelsey Hayes has been named assistant technology editor for Politico Europe.

She will remain based in London.

Hayes has been assistant policy editor for Politico Europe. She previously worked with the production team in Brussels and the U.K.

Hayes previously worked as the copy chief of Politico Pro in the U.S. She was a 2008 Dow Jones editing intern at The Indianapolis Star, and also completed internships with The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch and The Kansas City Star.

In 2009, Hayes earned bachelor’s degrees from the University of Kansas in journalism and political science, with a co-major in international studies. She spent her sophomore year abroad at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.

In 2011, she earned her master’s degree in international relations from the University of Kent in Canterbury.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
