Kelsey Hayes, assistant tech editor and living cities editor for Politico in London, is leaving to join New Scientist as chief subeditor.
She previously worked with the production team in Brussels and the United Kingdom
Kelsey previously worked as the copy chief of Politico Pro in the U.S. She was a 2008 Dow Jones editing intern at The Indianapolis Star, and also completed internships with The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch and The Kansas City Star.
In 2009, Hayes earned bachelor’s degrees from the University of Kansas in journalism and political science, with a co-major in international studies. She spent her sophomore year abroad at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.
In 2011, she earned her master’s degree in international relations from the University of Kent in Canterbury.
