She has been covering economy policy on Capitol Hill and in the Biden administration. She joined the news organization in 2022 and has been covering the bond market on the municipal finance team.
She graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in ethics, politics and economics.
Hawkins was was editor in chief and president of the Yale Daily News. She also interned for Bloomberg in Washington covering Congress in 2021.
