Hawaii Business has hired Grant Nakasone as a staff writer.
He will start this summer.
“Grant was still in his last semester when Ken Wills, my managing editor, and I approached him,” said Jennifer Ablan, the magazine’s editor in chief. “I had it in my head that we could break him into the newsroom and workflow before graduation in May. We worked around his schedule because he’s that good of a multimedia journalist.”
Nakasone recently graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he majored in journalism. While there, he was a contributing writer at The Manoa Mirror.
He also was a legislative aide for a state senator.
