Alex Hern, the tech editor at The Guardian, is leaving the publication after 11 years.
Formerly an economics reporter, Hern has had a varied career gaining experience in a number of different sectors. Before joining The Guardian, he worked for New Statesman.
Hern has reported on a number of high-profile news stories such as malware attacks on mobile devices, privacy issues with social media applications, cyber security, virtual reality and artificial intelligence, problems with ethics in the digital world, digital marketing and search engine algorithm updates to name a few.
His work has also been featured in a variety of digital formats for Medium, Business Insider, Yahoo Finance, The Hindu, Irish Times, New Statesman and RawStory.
